US-Russia Relations to Improve, But Ties Will Not Be Very Close, Says American Expert

NEW YORK (Sputnik), Lenka White - During a recent phone call, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump discussed the settlement of the Ukraine conflict and expressed mutual interest in normalizing relations, the Kremlin said, adding that Putin agreed to Trump's proposal that the parties to the conflict cease attacks on energy infrastructure for 30 days.
The relations between Washington and Moscow will get better but won’t be tight, while the standing of BRICS will get to the forefront of the multipolar world, renowned American economist and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs told RIA Novosti.

"The US will not have good relations with most of the world because US foreign policy remains aggressive and hostile, so Russia-US relations will improve but most likely not be very close. The BRICS remains very important for the new multipolar world, as do the regional groupings in Eurasia," Sachs said when asked how strong the US-Russia relations could get.
