Trump Says Zelensky Took Money Out of US Under Biden 'Like Candy From Baby'
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - Moreover, Trump said he expects the US and Ukraine to sign a rare earth minerals agreement, despite his recent spat with Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House.
Volodymyr Zelensky took money out of the United States during Joe Biden's presidency "like candy from a baby," and he is likely not grateful for the assistance, US President Donald Trump said on Sunday.
"What he did, he is a smart guy, and he is a tough guy, and he took money out of this country under Biden like candy from a baby. It was so easy with that same attitude. And I just do not think he is grateful we gave him, in my opinion, $350 billion," Trump told Fox News.
When commenting on the potential presence of
rare earth minerals such as titanium and lithium in Ukraine, Trump said that he does believe so.
"Well, I do. I do. I mean, I have had a check, I have had it checked. It is very valuable," the US president said.
He declared that he believes
nuclear weapons pose a greater threat to humanity than climate change, expressing his criticism of the views of his predecessor, Joe Biden, on the matter.
“I watched Biden for years say the existential threat. He loved the term existential threat, because our greatest existential threat is from the climate. I said no, the greatest is sitting on shelves in various countries called nuclear weapons that have big monsters that could blow your heads off for miles and miles and miles, and they never mentioned that,” Trump told the broadcaster.
Speaking of the weaponry, Trump stated that he would like to
cut defense spending, but "not now."
"I would love to cut defense spending, but not now, because you have China, you have Russia, a lot of problems out there," he said.
