The Sudanese Foreign Ministry, citing recent army successes against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Al-Jazira and Khartoum, announced a post-war roadmap, aiming to resume political dialogue, form a transitional government, amend the constitution, and hold elections for lasting peace.Key elements of the roadmap include establishing a government of independent experts to oversee the transition and post-war recovery and initiating a national dialogue open to those who withdraw support for the RSF.Furthermore, the roadmap outlines constitutional amendments and a process for selecting a civilian prime minister. It also sets conditions for any negotiations with the RSF: they must first lay down arms, evacuate civilian sites, lift the siege of El Fasher, and withdraw from key areas before any ceasefire is considered.
