The appointment of Chad's new cabinet of ministers follows a three-year transition period under President Deby Itno, who took power in 2021 after the death of his father. Legislative, regional, and municipal elections were held on December 29, 2024, marking an important step in Chad's political transition.
Chad's President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno issued a decree on Thursday to form a new 37-member cabinet, led by Prime Minister Allamaye Halina, who was reappointed for a second term two days earlier when the newly elected parliament held its first session.

"The President of the Republic, Head of State, President of the Council of Ministers, in accordance with the Constitution, in accordance with Decree [...] appointing a prime minister, head of government [...]. The persons whose names follow are appointed members of the government and in charge of the following ministerial departments," said the decree read out by Secretary General of the Chadian Presidency Mahamat-Ahmad Alhabo.

The cabinet includes five ministers of state, three delegate ministers, and eight secretaries of state, with key positions held by Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul as foreign affairs minister, Issakha Malloua Djamous as defense minister, Youssouf Tom as minister of justice, and Tahir Hamid Giling as finance minister.
