Last week, Kenya's president reiterated his administration’s dedication to stopping extrajudicial killings in the country. He emphasized that all criminal acts, whether committed by civilians, criminals, or law enforcement officers, should be thoroughly investigated.
Speaking after a church service at the United Pentecostal Church of Kenya in Dagoretti North, Nairobi, President William Ruto
reiterated his commitment to fulfilling what he described as a divine assignment to transform Kenya.
He emphasized the importance of unity across political, regional, and ideological lines, urging all leaders, including those in
opposition, to work together to achieve God’s plan for the nation.
“God has given me an opportunity to lead this nation and an assignment to transform Kenya, and I have every intention to make sure we transform our nation. [...] One man cannot do, one party cannot do, one region cannot do but [...] all of us united, we can achieve much together,” Ruto stated.
He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve as president and affirmed his determination to lead Kenya towards prosperity.
Ruto also addressed critics who speculate about his term in office, brushing off debates about his political future.
“A few years ago, there were people who thought I would never even have one term. Now, I am a very proud President of the Republic of Kenya, and I thank God for this opportunity,” he said in Swahili.
