SEOUL (Sputnik) - North Korea's missile launched on Monday flew at least 1,100 kilometers before falling into the sea, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
The South Korean military has intensified observation and control as part of preparations for possible further launches, closely exchanging information about the North Korean ballistic missiles with the US and Japan, and maintaining a state of full combat readiness, Yonhap reported, citing a JCS statement.

South Korean and Japanese media reported earlier in the day that North Korea launched a medium-range ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan for the first time this year from the vicinity of Pyongyang around noon.
