MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Washington carrying on with its policy towards Pyongyang, it would only bring it "repeated failures in dealing with the DPRK and a new source of trouble," the statement by the North Korean Foreign Ministry said.
North Korea will safeguard its sovereignty and will not put any restrictions on it, the North Korean Foreign Ministry said on Thursday in a statement quoted by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

"The DPRK [North Korea] will firmly safeguard its legitimate right as a sovereign state, put no restrictions on exercising it, and continue to make crucial efforts to preserve regional and global peace and security," the statement read.

The US and its allies pursuing their policies of "causing instability and confusion in different parts of the world to fulfill their illegitimate and outrageous geopolitical ambition" only creates "new justification and motive power to the DPRK's bolstering of its national power to more reliably guarantee the national security and global peace," the ministry added.
The hostility of G7 countries towards defense cooperation between Russia and North Korea undermines the very basis of international peace and security, the North Korean Foreign Ministry also stated.

"The hostile act of the US and its vassal forces constitutes a serious threat undermining the foundation of international peace and security, which goes beyond a politically motivated provocation wantonly infringing upon the sovereignty of sovereign states," the ministry pointed out.

The hostile forces' madness in response to the DPRK-Russia relations goes to prove that the strengthened cooperative relations between independent sovereign states are very effective in deterring the US and the West's ill-intended extension of influence and ensuring the balance of power indispensable for defending global peace and security, the statement added.
Moreover, the US and other G7 countries are trying to distort and slander the normal cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang and create an atmosphere of pressure on North Korea, the ministry said.

"Recently the US, together with G7 member states, the ROK [South Korea], Australia, New Zealand, and [the] EU, cooked up and released a "joint statement" distorting and slandering the essence of the normal cooperative relations between the DPRK and the Russian Federation, getting hell-bent on creating the international atmosphere of sanctions and pressure on the DPRK [North Korea]," the statement read.

The ministry also said it "denounces and rejects the reckless provocation of the US and its vassal forces" aimed at undermining the principles of sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.

"The Ukrainian war has been prolonged, and the security situation in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region has become more unstable. It is because of the misguided acts of the US and the West persisting in their structure-destructive, hegemony-oriented, and adventurist military policy and policy of exclusive alliance," the statement read.
