BRICS is a ray of hope for the countries that do not want to be dictated by the West, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and BRICS Sherpa Sergey Ryabkov told Russian media.According to Ryabkov, the influence of the global majority is manifested in particular in the fact that when voting on many issues at the UN General Assembly and at other venues, BRICS countries, as Russia noticed, do not show the previous timidity in defending national views, including a counterweight to the Western influence.Ryabkov suggested that the existence of BRICS facilitates the development of independent, nationally oriented foreign policies for its member states.
