Political parties’ agents in the Oshana Region in northern Namibia are satisfied with the election process, saying no major challenges were observed, a local broadcaster, NAMPA, reported.Laimi Shilongo, who is an agent for the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) at Akweenyanga, said that election proceedings have been smooth with no hiccups recorded. Agent of the ruling SWAPO Party, Tertu Stephanus, echoed these sentiments, saying that everything was smooth and no challenges were encountered. Another SWAPO Party agent, Hans Amesho, said that the election proceeded smoothly. At Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo Secondary School, SWAPO Party agent Boas Ngelume indicated that they only observed challenges such as the tablets malfunctioning, which cost valuable time as they had to wait for assistance from the technical team. In addition, IPC agent Penda Sheya noted that the only challenge was the ballot boxes being full and the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) officials wanting to push the ballot papers down with a ruler, which he prevented them from doing. He stressed that the ECN regulations state clearly that once a ballot box is full, it must be replaced with a new one. Affirmative Repositioning party agent Johanna Shipanga said that she observed no challenges, adding that the process was fast and the people were eager to cast their votes.

ONDANGWA (NAMPA) – Voting in Namibia's presidential and parliamentary elections took place on Wednesday. Incumbent President Nangolo Mbumba is not running for the country's top job, while 21 parties are vying for seats in the National Assembly, the lower house of parliament.
Political parties’ agents in the Oshana Region in northern Namibia are satisfied with the
election process, saying no major challenges were observed, a local broadcaster, NAMPA, reported.
Laimi Shilongo, who is an agent for the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) at Akweenyanga, said that election proceedings have been smooth with no hiccups recorded. Agent of the ruling SWAPO Party, Tertu Stephanus, echoed these sentiments, saying that everything was smooth and no challenges were encountered.
Another SWAPO Party agent, Hans Amesho, said that the election proceeded smoothly.
"The only obstacle was the UV battery shutting down and we had to wait for 30 minutes to get new ones," he said.
At Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo Secondary School, SWAPO Party agent Boas Ngelume indicated that they only observed challenges such as the tablets malfunctioning, which cost valuable time as they had to wait for assistance from the technical team.
In addition, IPC agent Penda Sheya noted that the only challenge was the ballot boxes being full and the
Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) officials wanting to push the ballot papers down with a ruler, which he prevented them from doing.
"I told them to follow what the ECN manual is saying and ask for a new ballot box," he added.
He stressed that the ECN regulations state clearly that once a ballot box is full, it must be replaced with a new one.
Affirmative Repositioning party agent Johanna Shipanga said that she observed no challenges, adding that the process was fast and the people were eager to
cast their votes.
