A meeting of the Russia-Palestine Intergovernmental Commission will take place in Moscow by the end of the year, Mahmoud al-Habbash, an aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, told Sputnik. Al-Habbash accompanied Abbas to Kazan, where the Palestinian leader met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.Earlier, al-Habbash told Sputnik that the expansion of the Middle East Quartet will deprive the US of its monopoly role as a mediator in the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He underlined the necessity to restore balance in the political process by reducing American exceptionalism and by allowing other countries to join in.The BRICS Summit was held in Kazan from October 22-24. The event focused on strengthening multilateralism, integrating new members of the bloc, and addressing regional challenges.

09:10 28.10.2024 (Updated: 11:52 28.10.2024) KAZAN, Russia (Sputnik) - On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a massive attack on Israel, leading to a devastating response that has claimed the lives of over 42,000 Palestinians in Gaza and left thousands more injured, according to Gazan authorities.
A meeting of the Russia-Palestine Intergovernmental Commission will take place in Moscow by the end of the year, Mahmoud al-Habbash, an aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, told Sputnik.
"The meeting of the Russia-Palestine Joint Commission at the ministerial level – a committee for bilateral economic and political cooperation between the Russian Federation and the State of Palestine – is expected to be held in Moscow before the year ends," al-Habbash said on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Russia's Kazan.
Al-Habbash accompanied Abbas to Kazan, where the Palestinian leader met with
Russian President Vladimir Putin.
