MOSCOW, (Sputnik) - Humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip drastically deteriorated after the beginning of Israeli military operation in the enclave. Several countries, the UN, and other international organizations try to help the Palestinians by providing them with various kinds of aid.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said on Monday that 70% of water and sanitation plants in the Gaza Strip had been damaged or completely destroyed, urging the international community to stop attacks on civilian infrastructure.
"70% of Gaza's water and sanitation plants have been destroyed or damaged," the PRCS said on X, adding that countries must "act now" to prevent the devastating attacks on civilian homes and infrastructure in Gaza.

On October 7, 2023, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. In addition, Palestinian movement Hamas fighters infiltrated the border areas, opened fire on the military and civilians and took hostages. Israeli authorities say that about 1,200 people were killed during the raid. The Israel Defense Forces launched Operation Iron Swords in the Gaza Strip and announced a complete blockade of the enclave. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, since October 7, 2023, the death toll has exceeded 42,200, and more than 98,600 people have been injured.
