KAZAN (Sputnik) - Palestine agrees with Putin's proposal to continue dialogue on the settlement in the Middle East, Abbas said, adding that Palestinians will never leave the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Palestine is ready to join the BRICS work in any status, whether as a member, partner or observer, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Thursday at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Russia's Kazan.

"The events and activities of the BRICS Summit have made a serious impression on us. We will be ready to help you cooperate within this framework in the future and, God willing, one day we will join the BRICS work in one form or another. Member, partner, observer—in any form we are ready to do it," Abbas said, adding that the BRICS events chaired by Russia were successful.

The Palestinian people are very pleased with Russia's strong positions in support of the Palestinian issue, Abbas added.

"We are pleased that Russia is taking strong positions in support of the Palestinian issue and in support of the sovereign right of the Palestinian people to achieve all their goals and establish our state. The Palestinian people appreciate this very much, Mr. President," Abbas noted.
