Amon Murwira is a Zimbabwean politician and academic. As minister of higher and tertiary education, he was reforming education to align with national development goals and enhance higher education quality. Murwira has an academic background in geomatics and was a lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed a new minister of foreign affairs and international trade.
According to the Secretariat of the President and Cabinet, Zimbabwe's Foreign Ministry is now headed by Amon Murwira, who was previously the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science, and Technology Development.
The now-former Foreign Minister Frederick Shava has taken over Murwira's former post.
The reasons for the reshuffle were not given.
