MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On Monday, the Council of the EU adopted sanctions against seven Iranian individuals and seven organizations for alleged military cooperation with Russia.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei condemned the new sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United Kingdom against a number of Iranian individuals and entities and rejected accusations that Tehran allegedly sent missiles to Russia, the ministry said.

"The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei, has strongly censured the new sanctions imposed by the European Union and Britain against several Iranian individuals and entities, describing them as unjustified and contrary to international law, particularly human rights. Baghaei rejected the allegations that Iran is selling ballistic missiles to Russia, asserting that the Islamic Republic of Iran's stance on the Ukraine conflict has been clear and consistent," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement noted that Western countries had not provided evidence that Iran was sending weapons to Russia. In addition, the EU and the UK are trying to "divert public attention from the most important issue of the day, namely the genocide of Palestinians and the Zionist regime’s warmongering in West Asia."
