VLADIVOSTOK, Russia (Sputnik) - The Eastern Economic Forum began on Tuesday and will run through Friday. It is being hosted by the Far Eastern Federal University in Russia’s Pacific coast city of Vladivostok. Sputnik is the general information partner of the EEF 2024.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are scheduled to hold talks at the BRICS summit in Russia’s Kazan, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui told Sputnik.
"It is planned, of course," Zhang said, without specifying the main topic of discussion.
Furthermore, China is ready to cooperate with Russia in Africa and considers it very important.
"This is very important. We are ready," Zhang said at the Eastern Economic Forum when asked about Beijing's readiness to cooperate with Moscow in Africa.

China, Russia Steadily Developing Strategic Partnership Relations, Vice President Says
When asked how China views joint resolution of crises on the continent, the diplomat said that Russia and China cooperate on Africa’s issues within the United Nations and other international organizations, and such cooperation will be strengthened.
Aside from that, Zhang stated that Russia and China have a "common or similar position" on the Iranian nuclear program.
"I believe that we have a common or similar position," the ambassador said.
In July, Russia, China, and Iran stated that they supported and continue to support the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, and their position had not changed after the United States withdrew from the agreement.
