The potential designation of Ukraine as a terrorist state by the UN Security Council has been suggested by Alexander Babakov, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma, the lower chamber of the Russian parliament. Labeling Ukraine a terrorist state would demonstrate that the international community is ready to uphold the fundamental principles of sovereignty and self-determination in the event of any attempt to violate them, said Alexander Babakov.Accordingly, this UN decision should be followed by tough international sanctions against Ukraine, he added.Babakov sees the Sahel countries' actions as a sign that African nations are rejecting colonial dependence and seeking mutually beneficial partnerships with countries like Russia and other BRICS members.
