ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (Sputnik) - Last week, Deputy Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereign Council Malik Agar told Sputnik Africa at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) that Sudan would like to return to the deal on the construction of a Russian naval base in the Red Sea.
Russia and Sudan have not yet reached an agreement on the construction of a naval base in the Red Sea, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has said.
"Contacts are underway, but as far as I know, there are no specific agreements, including on the part of the military departments," Bogdanov said on Tuesday.
