Turkey Plans to Replace Trade With Israel by Working With China, India, Africa, Reports Say

ANKARA (Sputnik) - Last week, the Turkish Trade Ministry confirmed that the country had fully suspended trading with Israel adding that the decision would be in force until uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip is ensured.
Turkish authorities plan to replace suspended cooperation with Israel by working with China, India and African states, reports say, Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak reported on Monday, citing undisclosed sources.
The new Turkish trade strategy presupposes replacing the Israeli market with other countries, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, China, India, Vietnam, Ecuador, South Africa, Nigeria, Mexico, Paraguay and Peru, Yeni Safak reported.
The Turkish authorities have conducted a marketing research and analyzed potential customers, the newspaper reported, adding that those goods which currently are in export deficit will find new importers.

Turkey will encourage building ties with Turkish entrepreneurs in these countries to organize distribution and representation of national goods as well as will ensure redirection of those producers who used to trade with Israel for new markets through joint business events, the newspaper added.
According to Turkey's foreign trade statistics analyzed by Sputnik, in 2023 the country exported $5.4 billion worth of goods to Israel and imported $1.6 billion worth of Israeli goods.
