DONETSK (Sputnik) - In late March, around 30 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in an attack by Russian forces on targets in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov, including the location of the Lyut assault brigade, according to Nikolaev underground network's coordinator Sergey Lebedev.
Russia has struck a television tower in the Ukrainian-controlled city of Kharkov that hosted communications systems for Ukraine's air defense systems, coordinator of the underground network in Nikolaev, Sergey Lebedev told Sputnik on Monday.

"At 16:36 [13:36 GMT] there was a strike on a TV tower in Kharkov, which is located on Derevianka Street, a third of the tower was broken off, it had an air defense communications antenna on it," Lebedev said.

He added that the air defense systems in the city were currently operating at minimal ranges and were not interconnected.
Regional head Oleg Sinegubov confirmed the strike on television infrastructure.

"A television infrastructure facility was hit in Kharkov [...] There are interruptions to the digital television signal," he wrote on Telegram.

Russia launched its special military operation in Ukraine in February 2022. The Russian armed forces started striking Ukrainian infrastructure on October 10, 2022, two days after a bombing attack against the Crimean Bridge, which Russian authorities believe was carried out by Ukrainian security services. The strikes target energy, defense, military administration and communications facilities across the country.
