US Should Think of Its Responsibility in Ukraine Crisis, Chinese Diplomat Says
BEIJING (Sputnik) - The Chinese diplomat's remarks came on the eve of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's visit to China, where he will travel from April 24-26 to meet with senior officials in Beijing and Shanghai, including with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, as part of Washington's continued efforts to communicate a range of concerns.
The United States should really think of its responsibility in the Ukraine crisis and stop pouring fuel to the flame, a spokesperson for the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs at the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
"The US should really think of its responsibility in the Ukraine crisis, not to add fuel to the flame, not to use it as an opportunity to benefit itself," China Central Television quoted the diplomat as saying.
The spokesperson added that
the Ukraine crisis is not an issue between China and the United States, and Washington should not turn it into a bilateral issue.
"The Ukraine issue is not an issue between China and the US; the American side should not turn it into an issue between China and the US," he noted.
