11:54 17.03.2024 (Updated: 12:44 17.03.2024) Following the liberation of Avdeyevka in late February, Russian troops advanced positions in the region and liberated the Lastochkino village. In the Zaporozhye area, Russian forces entered the village of Rabotino on February 25, regional Governor Yevgeny Balitsky told Sputnik.
Russian forces liberated the village of Mirnoye in Zaporozhye region, the country's Defense Ministry reported.
"In the South Donetsk area, units of [Russia's] Vostok group of forces, as a result of successful offensive actions, liberated the settlement of Mirnoye in the Zaporozhye region," the Russian military department said in a summary.
The counterattack of Ukraine's 72nd mechanized brigade in the area of the settlement of Vodyanoye of the Donetsk People's Republic was repelled by the Russian military, the ministry added.
"The enemy's losses amounted to over 120 soldiers and three vehicles," the ministry said.
On February 25, Russian military entered the village of Rabotino in Zaporozhye region and proceeded to advance their positions, according to the regional Governor Yevgeny Balitsky.
