On February 26, Yan Gagin, advisor to the acting head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), revealed that Russian troops destroyed an Abrams tank near Avdeyevka for the first time.
Russian forces destroyed another Abrams tank near Avdeyevka, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

"The enemy lost more than 490 troops, two tanks, including an Abrams made by the United States, four infantry fighting vehicles, including three Bradleys made by the US, three armored combat vehicles and 12 vehicles. During the counter-battery struggle, an 'Acatsiya' self-propelled artillery installation, a 'Msta-B' howitzer, a 'Gvozdika' self-propelled gun, as well as three D-30 guns were hit," the body said in a statement.

According to the ministry, this is the third Abrams destroyed in the zone of the special military operation. In Avdeyevka region, Russian troops continued to occupy more advantageous positions as a result of coordinated actions, the ministry reported.
Fire damage was inflicted on the manpower and equipment of Ukraine's 24th, 110th mechanized, 71st Jaeger brigades and the 103rd Air Defense Brigade near the Novokalinovo, Mayorsk, Berdych, and Rozovka villages of the Donetsk People's Republic, according to the body.
