At Least Three Dead, 27 Injured in Militant Attack on Hotel in Somalia's Mogadishu, Reports Say

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Earlier in the day, al-Shabaab* militants detonated a car bomb at hotel SYL near the presidential palace and engaged in a gunfight inside the hotel. The Mogadishu24 news website initially reported that there were at least 15 casualties, including members of parliament, journalists, local officials and soldiers.
Three people died and 27 others were injured in an attack on a hotel in Somalia's capital of Mogadishu carried out by al-Shabaab terrorists (affiliated with al-Qaeda*) on Friday, Somalian media reported, citing the police.
The three fatalities are all military, while the 27 people with injuries include 18 civilians and nine military personnel, the Sonna news agency reported, citing police spokesperson Kasim Ahmed Roble.
