Senegal's Opposition Wants to Introduce New Currency if Its Candidate Wins Election: Local Media

The presidential elections in Senegal will be held on March 24. There are 19 candidates participating. Incumbent President of the country, Macky Sall, whose term ends on April 2, will not run for the top job.
Opposition in Senegal wants to introduce a new currency if its candidate wins the upcoming presidential election in the country, local media reported.
According to Bassirou Diomaye Faye's electoral manifesto, he also wishes to review the working conditions of enterprises in the mining and energy sectors of the country, the media noted.
"We are convinced that full independence cannot be achieved without control over the economy, livestock, fisheries and agriculture, and we are fully committed to achieving food, digital, financial, energy and scientific sovereignty," he was quoted by the media as saying.
