The presidential elections, originally scheduled for February 25, were postponed by Macky Sall until December 15, 2024. However, this decision was later deemed unconstitutional by the Constitutional Council.
At the call of the opposition coalition F24, protesters gathered in the country's capital, Dakar, to ask the head of state to organize the election before the end of his term on April 2.
Macky Sall had previously ordered the postponement of the presidential elections, scheduled for February 25, until December 15, 2024. This was subsequently declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Council.
