The UN Food and Agriculture Organization has expressed a desire to work more closely with Russia in Africa, Head of FAO's Moscow branch, Oleg Kobyakov told Russian media.Russian free grain supplies to six African nations have made a significant contribution to the fight against hunger in these states, Kobyakov added.He stressed that Russia's grain supplies covered 23% of Somalia's total annual wheat import needs, and for Burkina Faso and Mali, the grain supplies covered 9% and 6%, respectively.On February 20, during a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the country's Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev announced that Russia has completed the delivery of 200,000 tonnes of wheat to six African countries.According to the minister, such large-scale humanitarian actions have never been carried out in Russia.
