Egypt's General Authority for Supply of Commodities (GASC) announced that it has purchased another 480,000 tonnes of Russian wheat in an international tender.The wheat will be delivered in two stages - 180,000 tonnes to be shipped from February 1 to February 14, 2024, and 300,000 tonnes - from February 15 to February 29, GASC added.The total amount of wheat contracted by Egypt in December amounted to 1.02 million tonnes, according to the Russian trade mission in Egypt.In October, Egypt reached an agreement with Russia for the supply of 780,000 tonnes of wheat.In January, Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, said that Egypt expects to increase grain supplies from Russia, considering it one of the priorities of bilateral relations.As for other North African countries, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, said last week that Moscow is ready to increase grain exports to Tunisia, which has shown interest in expanding supplies.

Egypt's General Authority for Supply of Commodities (GASC) announced that it has purchased another 480,000 tonnes of Russian wheat in an international tender.
The wheat will be delivered in two stages - 180,000 tonnes to be shipped from February 1 to February 14, 2024, and 300,000 tonnes - from February 15 to February 29, GASC added.
Moreover, Cairo purchased 120,000 tonnes of grain from Russia in the previous two tenders on December 5 and 7.
The total amount of wheat contracted by Egypt in December amounted to 1.02 million tonnes, according to the Russian trade mission in Egypt.
In October, Egypt reached an agreement with Russia for the supply of 780,000 tonnes of wheat.
