The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are practically not conducting active offensive actions on the Zaporozhye section of the front; the enemy is "exhausted" and suffering heavy losses; the initiative is completely on the Russian side, the governor of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky, told Sputnik in an interview.According to the official, the enemy is still making "some counterattacks" from the Rabotino side, "but along the entire front today the initiative is completely with our military," the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are suffering "very high losses."As Balitsky pointed out, the Russian Armed Forces have "almost completely decapitated the enemy" in terms of their offensive actions.

In early June, Ukraine launched its much-hyped counteroffensive and quickly ran into solid Russian defenses and minefields. According to the latest data from the Russian Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 125,000 troops during the six-month operation.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are practically not conducting active offensive actions on the Zaporozhye section of the front; the enemy is "exhausted" and suffering heavy losses; the initiative is completely
on the Russian side, the governor of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky, told
Sputnik in an interview.
"Everything is recognized in comparison. If we talk about how it was in the summer, in the fall and how it is now, these are three different approaches to fighting. First, today our men are conducting a very competent active defense. The enemy is so exhausted that there are almost no offensive actions. There are only a few incidents," Balitsky said.
According to the official, the enemy is still making "some counterattacks" from the Rabotino side, "but along the entire front today the initiative is completely with our military," the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are suffering "very high losses."
"The [AFU's] Marun group today left our direction [...] Today they are forced to disperse their forces along the entire front, and today we see that combat-ready units have largely been withdrawn from our direction and sent to the Donetsk and Kherson directions – where they are worse off than we are," the governor said.
As Balitsky pointed out, the Russian Armed Forces have "almost completely decapitated the enemy" in terms of their offensive actions.
