Beneath the vast African skies, many cities are witnessing the brilliance of entrepreneurship with a range of innovations and solutions that are helping to make life easier and more convenient for the continent's inhabitants.
OnDeck, an organization that helps companies scale, recently released a report aimed at decoding cities' entrepreneurial DNA.
By searching for the job title "founder" on Linkedln profiles in 150 countries and the 10 most populous cities within those countries, the researchers matched the number of entrepreneurs found to the population of the cities.
The Africa's undisputed champion in terms of entrepreneurial spirit was Rwanda's capital, Kigali, which boasts an astounding 116.5 business founders for every 10k LinkedIn profiles.
Nigeria's capital, Abuja, took second place with a score of 111.1, while Uganda's Kampala came in third with a score of 106.4 in the battle of the founders.

Globally, the top three are San Francisco in the US (353.7), Tel Aviv in Israel (299.4) and New York (287.0), according to the report.
In Europe, the top city for starting a business was Amsterdam, Netherlands, with 251.7 founders per 10,000 local workers on LinkedIn; in South America, Uruguay's capital Montevideo (36.5); and in Oceania, Australia's Gold Coast (143.5).
In Asia, Israel's capital is followed by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (126.1) and Turkey's capital Istanbul (124.3) – both just ahead of Kigali.
