The Police State Command of the Nigerian Lagos State arrested one of Marley's close friends and associate of his music label Marlians Record, music promoter Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, known as Sam Larry, over the death of the popular singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba aka MohBad, according to the command's statement.Larry was detained when he arrived to Nigeria from Kenya, and was questioned by the police commissioner, local media revealed.There have been calls for the arrest of Naira Marley and Sam Larry, who, in turn, claimed that they didn't know anything about the rapper's death, the outlet noted.It was reported on September 13 that MohBad died against the backdrop of confrontation with Marley. The deceased rapper said that his former manager ordered individuals to assault him because the latter ceased cooperation with Marley and his music label.The untimely death of the star prompted his admirers to call for a police investigation into the case. On September 16, a special investigative team was created to work on the issue.Along with ordinary fans, local celebrities, including Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojoalso and the country's singer Bella Shmurda, joined the trend #Justice4Mohbad. Moreover, in the wake of this movement, MohBad's fans organized demonstrations on the streets of Lagos and of the country's south-western city of Akure.Furthermore, at least 126,000 people signed a petition, calling for the ban of Marley's label. Apart from this, broadcasting of his songs was reportedly suspended by a private radio station, Fresh FM of the Nigerian south-western Ekiti State.

Nigerian Police Detains Music Promoter in Connection With MohBad's Rift With Ex-Manager, Death
On September 13, the management of the Nigerian rapper, known as MohBad, confirmed the death of the music star. Local police launched an investigation of his untimely departure, which happened amid the rapper's conflict with his former manager, Naira Marley. Many of MohBad's fans blame Marley for the idol's decease.
The Police State Command of the Nigerian Lagos State arrested one of Marley's close friends and associate of his music label Marlians Record, music promoter Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, known as Sam Larry, over the death of the popular singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba aka MohBad, according to the command's statement.
"Balogun Olamilekan Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with an ongoing investigation," Nigerian Police Force posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Larry was detained when he arrived to Nigeria from Kenya, and was questioned by the police commissioner, local media revealed.

"Consequent upon the growing public concerns and the preliminary police review of the general circumstances sorrounding the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba aka Mohbad, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command [...] has directed the commencement of full-scale criminal investigation into the case. [...] The Commissioner of Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team within the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to coordinate the investigation," the police statement read.
