Last Wednesday, the management of the Nigerian rapper Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as MohBad, reported that he passed away at the age of 27. However, the cause of the death remains unknown.
Admirers of the Nigerian singer MohBad's work, who deceased last week, demand justice for the rapper against the backdrop of the police investigation of the death, according to social networks.
The MohBad's fans and local celebrities are organizing a rally in the Nigerian south-western city of Akure, which began on Tuesday, and a protest in the state's city of Lagos, which scheduled for Wednesday, the Vanguard outlet said.
The netizens started a #Justice4Mohbad trend on social media, where the fans are calling for an investigation into the reasons for the rapper's sudden death, and even implicating that those allegedly involved to be brought to justice.

"Don't pass without liking this picture of MohBad. Justice must be done for him," one of the fans said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another fan posted: "Don't say anything, just retweet we want #Justice4Mohbad."
"MohBad might be dead, but his music lives with us forever. Drop a heart for MohBad if you’re seeing this. #Justice4Mohbad," a user posted.
As for the police action on the issue, Lagos State Police Commission set up a 13-man special investigative team to shed light on the Aloba's sudden death.
Commenting on the measure that the team plans to take, the head of the commission underlined that, along with other steps, the exhumation of the body is expected.

"The team will engage in the exhumation, autopsy, visit to the crime scenes, hospitals and past records that might be vital towards establishing the facts in relation to the case on that investigation," Idowu Owohunwa said.

In addition, Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo, reportedly urged local stars to take part in the Wednesday demonstration, adding that her non-governmental organization, Pinkies Foundation, would issue a letter to the state authorities ahead of the rally.
Moreover, the actress called on the Governor of the Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to make sure that responsible for the MohBad's death individuals were held to account.
"Governor Sanwo-Olu, I want you to use your good office, sir. We need you to see to it that all these investigations are carried out. We don’t want an audio investigation. MohBad was everybody’s child. We failed him when he was alive, we do not need to fail him in death. He cried out but a lot of us didn’t listen to him. This was why he had to pay the ultimate price. Ensure that justice is served in this case," Ojo was quoted by the media as saying.
In the meantime, according to the outlet, the Nigerian Social Democratic Party (SDP) asked the fans not to cause disturbance over the untimely departure of the rapper. Along with this, the party's representative Femi Olaniyi in Lagos on behalf of SDP expressed condolences to the singers families and friends.

'Peace': Fans Mourn Death of Nigerian Rap Star MohBad
On September 13, the management of MohBad has officially confirmed on social networks that the singer passed away.
The Afrobeats star died amid the conflict with his former manager Naira Marley. The Nigerian rapper blamed Marley for organizing assaults against him on the grounds that MohBad had left the Marley's music label Marlian Records. These allegations were echoed by the rapper's fans.
What's more, the rapper's admirers created a petition with around 126,000 signatures, calling for the ban of the label, the local music journal NME revealed.
Furthermore, Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda posted on X that "whole Marlians music must be arrested."
In the wake of these accusations, a privately owned radio broadcast station, Fresh FM of the Nigerian south-western Ekiti State imposed a ban on Tuesday for airing Marley's songs, the country's Punch newspaper noted.
As for the burial of the star, Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer, explained why his son was hastily buried in the south-western part of the country, Yoruba land.

"In Yoruba land, his corpse is not the kind to be kept when both of his parents are still alive. Assuming he died at an older age, we might have considered putting his body in the mortuary and taking it at a later date. That same night we took him away from there and buried him where we did," he said in the video uploaded on social networks, adding: "Land where Mohbad was buried is his only land, that’s the only land I know him to have owned."
