Wang Yi, head of the office of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee on Foreign Affairs, will visit Nigeria, Kenya, Turkiye and South Africa on July 24-25, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a briefing on Wednesday.During his upcoming visit to Nigeria, Wang will take part in a meeting of high representatives on security issues of the BRICS countries, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.Mao stated that the visit will take place at the invitation of the Minister in the Office of the President of South Africa Khumbudzo Ntshavheni and the governments of Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Turkiye.The spokeswoman also noted that the meeting of high representatives of the BRICS countries in charge of security issues is an important platform for cooperation of the association in the field of politics and security.At the same time, according to her, the participants of the meeting will conduct political preparations for the BRICS summit, which will be held in August this year.As the Chinese official is heading to Africa, the visit of the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to China is currently underway. Chinese President Xi Jinping and the African leader signed 19 documents, including agreements in several sectors and memoranda of understanding.According to Beijing, the cooperation of the two countries has been shaped by similar historical challenges that they encountered.
