The relations between Washington and Moscow will get better but won’t be tight, while the standing of BRICS will get to the forefront of the multipolar world, renowned American economist and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs told RIA Novosti.
"The US will not have good relations with most of the world because US foreign policy remains aggressive and hostile, so Russia-US relations will improve but most likely not be very close. The BRICS remains very important for the new multipolar world, as do the regional groupings in Eurasia," Sachs said when asked how strong the US-Russia relations could get.
The improvement of Russia-US relations is on the way, but Russia’s relations with China, India, Iran, the Arab states, Africa, and elsewhere will count for more than relations with the US, the professor added.
Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump said that without the United States, NATO posed no cause for concern for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
