Ethiopian Airlines has taken disciplinary action against employees involved in an unauthorized video shoot by artist Pipilo Tadesse on its premises.
The airline's legal team is reviewing the incident to determine if further legal action is necessary.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, CEO Mesfin Tasew reportedly confirmed that while Ethiopian Airlines allows promotional content creation under strict procedures, the video in question bypassed official approval channels. Employees from the Addis Ababa sales office, who granted permission without proper authorization, are now facing administrative consequences.
The video was filmed in a restricted maintenance area without prior content review. In response, the airline has launched an internal audit and reinforced approval protocols to prevent similar breaches. CEO Mesfin emphasized Ethiopian Airlines' commitment to maintaining security and compliance, stating that corrective measures will continue to be implemented.
