Nigeria's National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced a series of successful drug interdiction operations in a statement released Sunday.
The NDLEA made a major bust at Kano Airport, seizing 6kg of cocaine concealed within a smuggler – the largest seizure there since 2006, according to the agency's statement.
At Lagos Airport, an ex-convict was arrested for trying to smuggle Rohypnol to South Africa, having a previous fine for a similar offense. Also at Lagos, an Italy-based businesswoman was arrested for attempting to smuggle 6 kg of tramadol. Separately, a raid in Onitsha uncovered over 400,000 opioid pills and 8,000 bottles of codeine.
