Russia and Sudan have not yet reached an agreement on the construction of a naval base in the Red Sea, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has said.
"Contacts are underway, but as far as I know, there are no specific agreements, including on the part of the military departments," Bogdanov said on Tuesday.
Deputy Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereign Council Malik Agar told Sputnik at the 2024 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, held from June 5-8, that Sudan would like to return to the agreement on the construction of a Russian naval base in the Red Sea. Agar added that it is necessary to take into account the opinions of other countries.
