Macron 'Tarnishes' Image of France, Politician on Presidential Party's Setback in European Elections

In the European Parliament elections held in France last Sunday, the right-wing party "National Rally" (RN) received more than twice the votes of the coalition supporting President Emmanuel Macron, securing 31.36% of the votes.

French President Emmanuel Macron "tarnishes the image of France and despises the French," Francois Asselineau, president of the Popular Republican Union party, told Sputnik Africa.
The head of state is perceived as implementing policies dictated by "the Euro-Atlanticist oligarchy," which partly explains this disappointing result, he said.

"The accurate interpretation of this vote is that the French can no longer stand Macron, mainly for domestic policy reasons, and they can no longer stand his persona. An overwhelming majority of the French consider him to be a liar and mentally unfit. I am not exaggerating," Asselineau explained.

Furthermore, the European media is engaged in "unprecedented propaganda" to convince citizens that they "absolutely need the European Union and the Americans," the politician added.
Macron Announces Dissolution of France's National Assembly, Holding of Snap Elections
On June 9, the Renaissance party linked to Macron suffered a setback, finishing only second in the European elections with 14.6% of the vote, compared to 31.36% for Jordan Bardella's NR.
This failure even led Macron to announce the dissolution of the National Assembly, the lower house of the French parliament, and the holding of early parliamentary elections in two rounds — June 30 and July 7.
In an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro Magazine, Macron said that he does not intend to resign, no matter what the result of the National Assembly elections.
