At a joint press conference with Olaf Scholz, Emmanuel Macron argued that Kiev should be able to attack certain Russian sites with Western weapons.
‘We must allow them [the Ukrainians] to neutralize the military sites from which the missiles are fired, from which Ukraine is attacked,’ he said.
Alongside, Poland has allowed Ukraine to use the weapons it supplies to strike targets in Russia, deputy head of the Polish Defense Ministry, Cesary Tomczyk, said on Radio Zet.
Olaf Scholz, who is still refusing to deliver the long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine, has nevertheless agreed to allow the tanks transferred by Berlin to target Russian territory.
However, Vladimir Putin launched a warning to the Western states that are encouraging Ukrainian attacks against Russia: "NATO should be aware of what they are playing at," he cautioned.
