Joining BRICS is an ideal choice for Eswatini, the country's foreign ministry said in an analytical report.
Now is the optimal time for Eswatini to apply for BRICS membership, the ministry stated, adding that the nation will greatly benefit from joining the bloc by expanding foreign economic relations, increasing exports and gaining access to different markets.
Eswatini will be able to receive funding for its infrastructure projects from the New Development Bank, created by BRICS members, the body highlighted.
Among other African countries willing to join BRICS, is Zimbabwe, which has submitted its application for membership and is looking forward to its approval, the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Frederick Shava, recently told Russian media.
In early March, Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar told Sputnik that his country plans to apply for membership in BRICS after the necessary preparations within the country are completed.
Earlier, South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor said that about 34 nations have expressed interest in joining BRICS.
