Nigerian singer Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin, known as Primeboy, surrendered to police, which earlier declared him wanted over MohBad's death, the spokesperson of the police command in the country's southern Lagos State, Benjamin Hundeyin said.
"Following his being declared wanted, Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin aka Primeboy has turned himself in. He has, immediately, been taken into custody for interrogation and other necessary actions," Hundeyin posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The police reiterated its determination to find out the details of the MohBad's demise, the statement noted.
"The Lagos State Police Command once again assures family, friends, fans of MohBad and the general public that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring a most diligent investigation. The Command equally assures that all persons found culpable in the death of Mr Ilerioluwa Aloba aka MohBad will definitely be brought to justice," the statement read.
Primeboy was a childhood friend of the deceased rapper, they grew up together in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, the Nigerian newspaper Punch reported, adding that Primeboy also often appeared in MohBad's music videos.
On Wednesday, Primeboy was declared wanted as he failed "to honor the police invitation successfully sent to him since the commencement of investigation into the circumstances leading to MohBad's death," according to the spokesman.
Moreover, "a handsome reward" of over $1,300 (One million Nigerian Naira) was promised by the police command to anyone, who will provide the "useful information leading to his arrest," the spokesperson stated.
As for other individuals involved in the police investigation into the rapper's death, MohBad's former manager Naira Marley and his close friend and associate of his music label Marlians Record, music promoter Sam Larry were reportedly remanded on Wednesday for 21 days until the completion of the police's investigation.
Last Friday, Sam Larry was arrested and questioned about the rapper's death. On Tuesday, the police detained Marley for interrogation.
MohBad died amid the conflict with Naira Marley, who, as the deceased singer claimed, organized assaults against him, following MohBad's decision to change the manager and leave Marley's label.
