Ethiopian‑Russian Biological Center 'Accelerates Indigenous Economic Growth for Ethiopia,' Official Says

"The establishment of this biological research center will benefit both countries, especially Ethiopia," which "will be able to benefit from Russia's high-level experience," Fethi Mahdi, deputy chair of Ethiopia's House Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs, told Sputnik Africa.

According to Mahdi, it will help to transform the country’s:

🟠fishery;

🟠other sectors of agriculture, like husbandry and planters;

🟠environmental protection;

🟠health;

🟠actual resources.

The center will also improve "capacity of higher education and research institutions, [...] create jobs and economic benefits for Ethiopians."

ℹ The agreement to establish the center includes "intellectual property protection in accordance with international regulations to which both Ethiopia and Russia are parties," he added.
