Ghana’s University of Education, Winneba, Becomes Newest Partner of SputnikPro

The international news agency and radio broadcaster Sputnik has held its first SputnikPro module at the University of Education, Winneba, one of Ghana’s leading public universities.
Sputnik’s director of international cooperation, Vasily Pushkov, spoke to an audience of over 50 attendees about the work of a modern news agency. He specifically focused on media ethics, content reliability, information verification, and journalists’ responsibility to their audiences.
Albert Wornyo, Dean of the School of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Education, Winneba, thanked Sputnik for the lecture and emphasized the importance of such educational initiatives for students and young media professionals.
Following the main part of the webinar, a question-and-answer session took place. Participants discussed the prospects for international journalism, the impact of social media on media consumption, and the challenges facing modern media.
SputnikPro is a project by the Sputnik international news agency and radio designed for journalists, media and journalism students, press services, and media managers. Its goal is to exchange expertise and expand ties with colleagues around the world. Modules are led by Sputnik’s media managers as well as invited experts. Sessions cover various aspects of journalistic work, including multimedia content production, social media management, and digital media development. Since 2018, in-person meetings have been held in dozens of countries, and online sessions have reached a wide international audience. The total number of SputnikPro participants exceeds 15,000.
