Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at Sputnik, delivered a lecture to more than 80 students, focusing on the future of journalism, key challenges and prospects in the field, and the evolving global media landscape. He emphasized that neither social media nor artificial intelligence can replace professional journalism, noting that social platforms face limitations in terms of security and information verification, while AI technologies still struggle with issues of credibility.Dr. Malima Zacharia, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Dar es Salaam, thanked Sputnik for the session and expressed hope for continued cooperation adding that it was very interesting to hear an expert perspective on the transformations taking place in the media industry. The university hopes that this lecture marks the beginning of a long-term partnership with the SputnikPro team.The University of Dar es Salaam is the country’s leading public higher education institution.
