Romuald Wadagni Elected New President of Benin: Provisional Results Wadagni, who served as Minister of Finance in the current Beninese government, won 94.05% of the vote, according to provisional results announced late Monday night by the Autonomous National Electoral Commission(CENA). He was elected for a seven-year term. His rival, Paul Hounkpè, former Minister of Culture, received 5.95% of the vote. He conceded defeat, offering his "republican congratulations" to his only opponent, even before the results were announced. The results proclaimed by the CENA remain provisional and must still be validated by the Constitutional Court, in accordance with the constitution.

Romuald Wadagni Elected New President of Benin: Provisional Results
Wadagni, who served as Minister of Finance in the current Beninese government, won 94.05% of the vote, according to provisional results announced late Monday night by the Autonomous National Electoral Commission(CENA).
