National & Regional Peace is Imperative for Africa’s Development: Burundian Party Leader
The development requires peace at the national level, as well as across the entire sub-region, Olivier Nkurunziza, president of the Burundian party UPRONA, told Sputnik Africa at the 17th edition of the National Prayer Breakfast in Bujumbura.
The event's discussions focused on the contribution of citizens and authorities to the country’s common good, including:
🟠need for citizens to pay taxes and duties;
🟠mobilization of authorities to properly manage these taxes and build roads, hospitals, and pay salaries;
🟠collaboration between citizens and the government.
“In the debate, we saw the role of each and every one. It’s a good topic. We must continue raising awareness so that there are sufficient resources to achieve the 2040-2060 vision, because it is practically impossible to do so without resources,” Nkurunziza noted.
