US is 'Big Loser' of Iran War & Has Become 'Global Lilliputian': Nigerian Professor

Washington failed to achieve any of its four primary war aims – regime change, elimination of Iranian leadership, destruction of Iran's nuclear program, or neutralizing Iran as a threat to Israel, Abubakar Sadeeque Abba, professor of political economy at the University of Abuja, told Sputnik Africa.

The US has emerged from the conflict with its global image "pummeled down," according to the Nigerian academician.

"Iran has demystified America politically, economically, militarily, technologically, and to some extent diplomatically […] It is no longer respected; its integrity and value have been reduced drastically," Abba said.

The failure of the US‑Iran talks was "designed to happen," driven by Washington’s desperation and Tehran's reluctance, he argued, noting that the ongoing ceasefire provides both sides a breathing space for strategic repositioning ahead of possible further escalation.
