Africa's Second Tallest Building Inaugurated in Morocco
Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan inaugurated the 250-meter, 55-story Mohammed VI Tower, named after the reigning monarch, in Rabat, according to the official portal of the Moroccan government.
The tower now ranks as Morocco's tallest building and Africa's second tallest—surpassed only by Egypt's 394-meter Iconic Tower.
Built on 60-meter-deep foundations to withstand earthquakes and floods, it meets international eco-standards with energy recovery, rainwater reuse, and solar panels, the portal noted.
The mixed-use complex includes:
Observatory and panoramic deck;
Library and conference hall;
Offices, hotels, and residential spaces.
