Current Global Maritime Challenges Affirm Ethiopia's Quest for Sea Access is Timely & Just: Navy Commander
"The challenges demonstrate not only the urgency of the Ethiopian maritime issue, but also its relevance and fairness," Commander of the Ethiopian Navy Vice Admiral Kindu Gezu said at the 4th Red Sea and Gulf of Aden Conference in Addis Ababa, as reported by Sputnik Africa.
However, he warned that collective maritime governance must not be determined by a few actors or other external forces.
The Red Sea should be a source of cooperation rather than a source of division and competition, Director General of the Institute of Foreign Affairs Jafar Bedru stated.
