Nigeria's Dangote Refinery Boosts Exports to Ease Africa's Fuel & Fertilizer Crunch Amid Middle East Conflict: Owner

Africa's largest refinery has ramped up gasoline and urea exports to African countries hit by supply disruptions from the full closure of the Strait of Hormuz, Aliko Dangote said during a tour of the facility.

Operating at its full 650,000 barrels per day capacity, the refinery has helped cushion the crisis across the continent, according to Dangote.

"What I can do is assure Nigerians [...] and most of West Africa, Central Africa, and East Africa, we have the capacity to supply them," he said, noting that his refinery has shipped 17 gasoline cargoes to other African countries.

The facility has also increased urea fertilizer exports to buyers seeking alternative sources, shifting from its traditional markets in the US and South America, the businessman added.
