Kenya Exports First Shipment to China Under New Trade Deal

The consignment—with fresh avocados, avocado oil, hides, skins, and other agricultural commodities—was flagged off under the Early Harvest Agreement, the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency said.


"This milestone signals Kenya’s readiness to scale exports, strengthen global competitiveness, and deepen trade partnerships with China," it noted.


Kenya and China are strengthening their economic ties through a zero-tariff agreement granting Kenyan exports duty-free access to 98.2% of Chinese tariff lines, alongside expanded investment cooperation.
